Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. Beta Mu chapter was founded on January 12, 2000 at the University of North Texas by three distinctive women who epitomize what it is to be a real Lambda Lady.
Merisa R. Trevino, Diana J. Mejia, and Rebecca I. Batres all envisioned the change an organization like LTA could bring to a campus like UNT. With the hopes of resonating our principles of Unity, Love and Respect across campus, the establishment of this chapter has created a home for many girls here at UNT, while pushing for academic success, political and philanthropic involvement, and the true meaning of a sisterhood. Sixteen years later, our chapter has become home to 68 women that decided to embark in this lifetime journey as sisters
Lambda Theta Alpha Beta Mu chapter, along with Lambda Theta Phi and Chi Upsilon Sigma helped found the ;Latino Greek Council in 2001 and later the Multicultural Greek Council in 2006. The council is now composed of 10 extraordinary organizations that have impacted the community in many ways.
